Foot odor

Foot odorThe main cause of foot odor (smelly feet) is germs that produce bad-smelling substances. Moisture creates the environment that fosters bacterial and fungal growth. The foot is prone to moisture since it has the highest concentration of sweat glands of the entire body and is enclosed in a shoe.

To reduce the number of germs, wash your feet daily and dry them completely. Swabbing between the toes with rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol – even an alcohol pad – is another inexpensive remedy. Be aware that alcohol should not be used on an open wound.

To keep your feet dry throughout the day, wear well-ventilated shoes. Socks made with Coolmax or similar moisture-wicking fabric are frequently used by athletes. Odor-Eaters have activated charcoal to absorb moisture.

In 2006, researchers discovered that a female malaria mosquito is attracted equally to the smell of human feet and Limburger cheese.
