Have you noticed the alarming rise of foot and ankle injuries in the NFL this year? The list includes turf toe, Achilles tendon rupture, ankle sprains, plantar fasciitis, and stress fractures. One potential culprit is players' shoes.  Soft-bottom cleats feel comfortable and light, but do not provide adequate support for the pressure and torque of large football athletes.

The Chicago Bulls’ center, Joakim Noah, has announced that he will switch his brand of shoes to Adidas in order to stave off his recurring foot pain.

Whether you are sidelined with an injury or are just unsure if your shoes are helping, schedule an appointment at Skokie Foot & Ankle Specialists by calling (847) 675-3400 or thru the internet http://www.skokiepodiatry.com/appointment.html
