World Cup injury

The World Cup tournament is fraught with injuries. This year a therapist may win the prize for the strangest foot injury.

England physical therapist Garry Lewin dislocated his ankle after his team scored a goal to tie the game with Italy. He was carried off in a stretcher and flew back to Europe for additional treatment.

“That was a very sad moment for us,” England manager Roy Hodgson said. “In celebrating the goal he jumped up, landed on a water bottle and dislocated his ankle.
